The American Rhododendron Society is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to encourage interest in and to disseminate information about the genus Rhododendron. Members' experience ranges from novice to expert. Society activities include public education, flower shows, seed exchanges, scientific studies, and communication through publications and local and national meetings.

The Fraser South Rhododendron Society is a registered chapter (one of seven in BC) of the American Rhododendron Society (ARS). They hold monthly meetings to share plants, experiences and garden knowledge and to enjoy talks by horticultural experts in many fields. Monthly topics range from rhodo hunting in the jungles of Sikkim to the challenges of bee keeping in the Lower Mainland.

The Rhododendron Species Foundation & Botanical Garden is a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation, public display, and distribution of Rhododendron species. Home to one of the largest collections of species rhododendrons in the world, the garden displays over 700 of the more than 1,000 species found in the wilds of North America, Europe, and Asia, as well as the tropical regions of southeast Asia and northern Australia.

Hirsutum is a great website that offers a full online encyclopedia of both species and hybrid rhododendrons. There is so much information here. Each rhodo is listed along with many many details of the plant including parentage, if known. Several contributors to hirsutum have provided photos from their own gardens of the various rhododendrons. An excellent site for anyone who is looking to learn more about rhododendrons.

ALPINE GARDEN CLUB OF BRITISH COLUMBIA

The Alpine Garden Club (AGCBC) has approximately 250 members in 16 countries, half of whom live in British Columbia, Canada, the remainder reside in other parts of North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Japan. Their Objective is to promote the propagation and display of plants suitable for the alpine garden and alpine house, rare and unusual species of hardy plants, trees, shrubs and ferns, plants suitable for the art of bonsai and to promote an interest in the native plants of British Columbia and their preservation.
